We are developing a comprehensive resource guide for New Americans that can be accessed online. Often New Americans are unaware of what services are available to them; our guide, which catalogues 300+ services, can close that communication gap and ensure people get the help they need.
The Cisneros Center for New Americans, in collaboration with Tyson Foods, has created a workplace education program, called Upward Academy, to provide free and accessible ESL, GED, citizenship, and functional literacy classes in the workplace. In addition to these core classes, the program also provides workshops on financial and tax literacy, legal issues, healthcare, safety, and accessing community resources and services.
We are engaging New American parents in a program that ensures they access to a broad range of educational options for their children. This work empowers families to make choices necessary to improve their children’s educational achievement.
